BDS, a human rights movement, focused on putting pressure on Israel to obey international law by promoting boycott, divestment and punishment for the country and economic partners, adding Microsoft and Xbox to the list of goals on April 7.
Microsoft’s partners with Israel’s Apartheid mode and its prison system, officially announced by the National Palestinian BDS National Committee. It provides the Israeli army with Azure Cloud and AI services to accelerate the Israeli genocide of 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza strip that is illegally occupied. After 34 years of complicity with the Israeli army, the Israeli army depends very much on meeting its equipment requirements.
Microsoft IBTihal ABoussad and Vaniya Agrawal staff interrupted the company’s 50th anniversary on April 4, confronting the executives and denounced what they saw was Microsoft’s complicity in Israeli’s cruel revenge.
You claim that you are interested in using AI to good but Microsoft sells AI weapons to the Israeli army, Mr. Aboussad was reported to have shouted to Microsoft CEO AI Mustafa Sleyman in her protest. Fifty thousand people died and Microsoft genocide in our area.
The movement is calling on the public to put pressure on Microsoft with the divestment and excluding the contracts, whenever the feasibility as well as the boycott of Xbox products, providing the following options as the levels of participation:
- Cancellation of your Xbox game pass.
- Bycott Candy Crush, Minecraft and Call of Duty – Franchise of the leading video game owned by Microsoft.
- Boycott all Microsoft Gaming products, including control panels, headphones, accessories and all games published by published labels owned by Microsoft (such as Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Bethesda and Blizzard).
BDS was inspired by anti -racism of South Africa and was launched in 2005 by a group of 170 trade unions, women’s organizations, professional associations, popular resistance committee and other Palestinian civil society agencies. Since then, it has launched a number of successful campaigns against Woolworths, Hewlett-Packard and Eurovision. Other current goals include Reebok, Chevron and Cisco.
By boycott of the Xbox brand, we put pressure on Microsoft to end our accomplice in the genocide, career and racism of Israel to the Palestinians, the BDS movement concluded. Palestinians call for people to boycott Microsoft’s Xbox and Microsoft Gaming products because of the feasible options for playing games. The genocide is not a game.
